We Bought a House!!, originally uploaded by liz kerrison.
So everything happened very quickly….Thomas and i bought a house! we weren’t planning on moving until next spring, but something perfect came on the market and we had to move fast!
so fast in fact that we saw the house and put the offer in the next evening, and had everything negotiated and done in 2 hrs. we’ve had the home inspected and it looks great.
we get the keys on December 14th and we couldn’t be more excited
we keep telling Paddington “we bought you a yard!” although she obviously has no clue – but she will when she realizes it’s hers!

today is my birthday and a friend made this for me. it represents me, thomas and Paddington. it’s made out of fimo and represents our love for Apple computers. it’s amazing and i LOVE LOVE LOVE it!

Tonight we went to another Small Fry dog social at a dog park. i didn’t get many shots because the sun set earlier this time, but i got a few.
Paddington wasn’t as crazy as last time and we don’t really know why. she didn’t listen at all and kept running further than we liked.
Today is Paddington’s first birthday – it’s too bad she doesn’t realize what that means. I bought her a special birthday cookie from Bark and Fitz and a friend from work made her the pink birthday hat…which she would not wear (not that i ever really expected her to)
I can’t get over that it’s almost been a year since we got her. it seems so short yet so long. there are only a certain few (most of them on flickr!!) who understand how much i love this little dog. she means the world to me and i’m so blessed to have her in my life.
Happy Birthday my little girl!!

Today i took Paddington to another dog social at Bark and Fitz. this one was a “Pooch Sweater Pawty” where a local designer stopped by with her collection of hand knitted dog sweaters (and matching “human scarves” in some cases).
Paddington of course had a great time and i bought her a sweater and me a matching scarf. I booked her for a photo shoot a the store by a photographer in October and she got a jacket as a door prize.
Afterwards we headed to my friend Catherine’s place for dinner. Great night!

A Weekend in the Life – September 15 and 16, 2007, originally uploaded by liz kerrison.
This weekend was once again full of work, except we took today (Sunday) off which was nice. Yesterday we worked all day and played with Paddington. we bought her a stuffed shark which i had to remove the eyes because we didn’t realize that they were the “bad” kind.
Today we took the day off. Brought Paddington to get her nails clipped, went to see the Bourne Ultimatum (very good) and watched a special Myth Busters episode we bought yesterday.
I’m glad we took today off. I have tomorrow off from work and i’m going shopping downtown Ottawa with a friend so i’m looking forward to that!

Today my parents drove up from Toronto to meet Jane, Thomas and I for lunch. we set up the things my parents brought for my sister and then headed out to do a boat cruise tour of Kingston. it was lousy weather but we didn’t mind. it was so hot yesterday and so cold today – what a difference!
After the boat cruise, we went to a late lunch then Thomas and i had to head back to Ottawa to get Paddington and go home. My parents stayed another couple of hours in Kingston.
All in all – a great weekend!
A Day in the Life – September 8th, 2007, originally uploaded by liz kerrison.
Today we dropped Paddington off at Thomas’ parent’s house and drove to Kingston. The drive was nice and quite short – only 2 hrs. we listened to the new Harry Potter audiobook on the way so that also made time go by quickly. i’m really enjoying it.
When we arrived in Kingston we went directly to Fort Henry. it’s a historic site and we toured around there for a couple of hours looking at HUGE canons and learning about the lives of the people who used to live there
after that we checked into our Bed and Breakfast then headed to see Jane at her residence at Queen’s University. thomas tried unsuccessfully to fix her not working wireless internet and then we went to a very yummy Italian dinner. after dinner we went for a walk and Jane left us to go to a semi-formal while thomas and i headed to the B&B to listen to more Harry Potter and crash. we were exhausted!
A Day in the Life (Paddy and Liz) – September 6th, 2007, originally uploaded by liz kerrison.
I thought i’d document a part of Paddington and my daily routine. when i get home from work every day we do the same thing – i take her outside for a walk and so she can relieve herself, and then we come in and play on the bed. usually with Sully (pictured here)
so today i got out the remote and had some fun with her. she kept getting distracted by the sound of the camera taking the picture but we still had fun.
after we played i gave her a bath, but thomas wasn’t home so i wasn’t able to document it. i didn’t want to get the camera wet. maybe next time! she smells wonderful now and is all soft.
